The Denza B8 arrived in Australia in late 2025 as the flagship of BYD’s premium sub-brand. This large SUV launched with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.0-litre turbo engine with dual electric motors. It features a sturdy ladder-frame chassis and is designed to compete with established luxury off-roaders.
The model originated in China where it is sold as the Fangchengbao Bao 8. For the Australian market, the name was simplified to Denza B8 to align with the brand’s local export strategy. This first-generation vehicle delivers 425kW of power and a 3500kg towing capacity, making it a capable choice for local families and enthusiasts.
The range includes six and seven-seat configurations to provide buyers with flexible layout options. It also secured a five-star ANCAP safety rating in early 2026, confirming its credentials as a modern contender in the competitive large SUV segment.
The line-up currently starts at $91,000 for the B8 7S and ranges through to $97,990 for the range-topping B8 6S.
The Denza B8 is available in four colours - Eclipse Black, Alpine White, Nebula Silver and Dawn Gold.
Standard accessories for the Denza B8 include keyless entry and start, 20-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, LED light suite, panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 17.3-inch central touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 18-speaker Devialet sound system, dual wireless charging pads, six USB-C ports (two per row), front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera system, soft-close doors (including tailgate), vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality and Type 2 CCS charging port with DC fast-charging capability.
The Denza B8 features a premium, tech-heavy cabin with a strong focus on comfort and space. A large central display and digital instrument cluster dominate the dashboard, supported by high-quality materials and a clean, modern layout across all three rows that is offset by a panoramic sunroof.
The Denza B8 is a plug-in hybrid four-wheel-drive that pairs a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with two electric motors. Together, the system produces a combined output of up to 425kW and 760Nm.
