Ford Australia has issued three urgent recalls for more than 36,000 vehicles including the Ranger ute, Everest large SUV, Mustang sportscar and Puma small SUV.Ā

The largest of the recalls involves a rear-view camera fault and affects 29,874 vehicles over seven different models with the Ranger, Everest, F-150 pick-up, Mustang, Transit and Transit Custom, and Mach E electric SUV all caught up in the recall. Currently the only vehicles that are affected are those with model years from 2022 to 2024.

According to Ford’s announcement made on vehiclerecalls.gov.au on June 16 the cause of the rear view camera fault is a software issue.Ā

ā€œDue to a software issue, the rear-view camera may not display the rear-view image whilst reversing as intended,ā€ the announcement reads.Ā

ā€œIf the rear-view camera does not operate as intended while reversing the vehicle, it could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to persons located behind the vehicle.ā€

ā€œOwners of affected vehicles will be contacted in writing requesting they make an appointment with their Authorised Ford Dealer to have their vehicle rectified, free of charge.ā€

There's also a recall for the Puma small SUV with model years ranging from 2021 to 2024 with Ford Australia saying that a fuel line fault may cause a loss of power while driving and a possible vehicle fire. According to Ford, 5,034 vehicles are affected.Ā

Owners of vehicles affected will be contacted by Ford Australia in writing.

And finally another recall has been issued for the Ford Everest, this time for an electric window fault that affects 955 vehicles with model years ranging from 2022 to 2024.Ā Ā

Again, owners of vehicles affected will be contacted by Ford Australia.
