Alfa Romeo's desire to recapture the hearts and minds of its most loyal fans began in earnest in 2014, with the debut of the two-seat, two-door 4C sports car.

Built around a high-tech carbon-fibre tub that houses a mid-mounted 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder making 176kW/350Nm, the 4C is unapologetically a Sunday sports car, with almost no luggage space in or around the car, a loud exhaust and no power steering. Priced from $63,140 to $108,460 for the 4C Coupe and 4C 33 Stradale Tributo Spider models, respectively, the Australian model actually weighs 130kg more than the European spec car thanks to tougher local safety regs, but the 4C still clocks in at just 1030kg.
