Car Servicing
I partially filled up my 2001 Nissan Pulsar last week, and ever since it seems to be running roughly. It noticeably shudders at start-up and when stopped, as well as being sluggish to accelerate.
Would it be reasonable to attribute this to bad fuel, or could there be another issue that needs addressing?
One week after I had the front-end of my 2008 Hyundai iMax replaced a rack end parted causing damage. I attempted to drive the car to safety approx. one kilometre, but in doing so the clutch burnt. The supplier of the parts has repaired the damage caused by the rack end, but I got a bill for a clutch, which was $3000. Should I pay for the clutch, or should I approach the company who sold the rack end?
How do I change the battery in my Ford Focus key?
I love my 2007 Lexus RX350L, but it is now in the repair shop. It made a ticking sort of noise.
I had it towed and they first said it wouldn’t be much because nothing goes wrong with these cars. Anyway, no such luck, the words used by the mechanic were "it’s catastrophic". Apparently a bolt from the rear seal dropped out, jammed and broke off two other bolts. I stopped listening after that. It's just under $10,000 for repairs. The few mechanics I have spoken too say they have never heard of that happening, especially to a good Lexus motor. Have you ever heard of this happening? Could it be a manufacturing fault?
Anyway, any help you can give would be appreciated.
The clutch in my 2007 Mazda BT-50 started being noisy and the mechanic said it was a thrust bearing. He replaced it and within 100 km it started making much more noise than prior to it being replaced. The clutch also slips a little bit when it is harshly accelerated to pass trucks etc. It never did that before.
I have to take it back to the mechanic but would like some information first if possible?
What battery should I use for a Ford Focus?
I brought a 2015 Renault Captur in 2017. I’ve only done 5000 km in it, but in that time the oil top-up light has come on twice.
The dealer told me that a software upgrade was available to fix this problem, and this was done in January, but the light has still been coming on. When I took it back the dealer told me this is an acceptable amount of oil for the car to use even though they told me that they could fix this problem with a software upgrade. Shouldn't they have told me before I brought the car? All the dealer would do was give me a litre of oil and told me to fill it up when the light comes on.
The dealer told me that it was acceptable to use half a litre of oil every 1000 km, but that would mean that I would have no oil in the car after travelling 8000 km. They did a test and after about 6500 kilometres my car used one and a half litres of oil and they are saying this is acceptable, even after they said a software upgrade would fix this.
Do you think this is an acceptable level? Renault will no longer do anything for me.
My 2014 Nissan Qashqai required a clutch replacement costing $4188 after 3.5 years and 40,000 km of city driving. Is such premature wear common for Qashqais with dual-mass flywheels?
My 2006 Peugeot 206 can't spark after changing my sparking plugs.
