I was advised by a mechanic to top up the engine oil in my 2006 VW Passat. I bought Castrol Edge 5-30W as advised. I added the oil twice on the same day; the second time I topped it up the engine started loosing oil pressure soon after I started driving. I topped up more oil; it lost more pressure and started making a very bad sound. Any idea why it would relate to the oil?

I have a 2014 Renault Trafic automatic that needed to have the hydraulic robot control unit from the transmission replaced after 80,000 km. The Renault dealer replaced this under warranty even though it was past the three
years, as it was a known problem. However, the clutch and flywheel had to be replaced costing $5500 at my cost. This was deemed wear and tear and my fault because I used the van for courier work. This van was not used for
courier work. Are these two issues related? Could the clutch wear out because the robot was faulty?
The engine warning light on my 2010 VW Golf recently came on.
I took it to local my dealer and they told me the air intake manifold flaps would need to be replaced. The car has only done 88,000 km. The cost to fix is approx. $1400. After contacting VW Aust. and talking to the dealer, I was able to reduce this cost to approximately half the quoted cost. Have you heard of this happening to many VWs, or any other car engines?
