Car Servicing
I have owned my 2013 Mercedes-Benz C180 for five years now. I am 80 years old and retired. Due to financial problems and the costs of owning and servicing my Merc I am considering my options.
Should I sell the car and buy a small car with a long warranty and inexpensive servicing costs. I feel I may not be able to afford the expensive servicing.
I recently had contaminated fuel in the petrol tank of my 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander.
I had the tank removed and cleaned, as well as the fuel system and injectors, and a new fuel filter as well by Mitsubishi. I have had no problems since, but two weeks later, after driving on the highway for an hour at 110 km/h in cruise control I exited highway, slowed to 60 km/h, then once I was back in a 90 km/h zone the car just lost power and without warning it went to limp home mode. I had it towed to a dealer workshop, but they can’t find any error codes or faults with car.
Any ideas?
The front windows on my 2016 Holden Calais rattle badly when you close the door and the windows is down. How can this be stopped? The dealer was unable to help? I've had this car since new and it started six months after.
The engine in my 2005 Mercedes-Benz A-Class cuts out while you are moving.
Who can you recommend that can repair a remote entry key for a 2002 Porsche Boxster?
Someone rear-ended my 2007 Holden Captiva. It brings up mostly all of the warning lights on my car's dash and it failed to start again after the hit. My insurer doesn’t want to cover it, they say this is a mechanical fault and they do not cover this type of damage, as it is inconsistent with the incident. They gave me a mechanical report suggesting the brake control system failed, plus an engine camshaft timing issue, and that all this happened because of a lack of maintenance. I have never encountered any issue before, and the car has been serviced every six months. How come it suddenly died?
The indicators on my 2002 Kia Spectra, although operating correctly, fail to give an audible indicator that they are operational. What could be the problem?
My local Ford dealership has gone bust and the closest place for servicing and warranty repairs is over two hours away. That’s not an option I'm interested in, so I would like to trade my 2014 Kuga Titanium for a Toyota, Holden, Nissan or Kia that is of the same quality as my lovely car. What would you advise?
I have a shift shock problem on a 2005 auto 3.2 Mitsubishi Pajero. The diagnostic testing said I had a "gearbox failure". The gearbox, transfer box, and torque converter were replaced, but the problem persists. The newest diagnosis is “torque converter fault". The vehicle seems to brake and slow, and then slams into gear. It is worse from 1st to 2nd and then into 3rd. Not too bad into 4th and 5th. We also had all the diff mountings replaced, as this was a suggested solution, but no such luck. The vehicle has an extreme amount of power and once through the gears drives like a dream. I really don't want to scrap the vehicle, but am at a loss on this one. I can't afford to waste any more money on this problem. I have to get it right this time.
