Buyer Guide
I’ve ordered a Mazda BT-50 twin-cab pick-up and when I spoke to the dealer, I asked for the steel tray premium upgrade. So they quoted on that. Now they have realised they didn’t put the original tray price on the contract for me to sign and want me to change my contract to change the price of the vehicle. I was completely unaware of this mistake they made and have said I’ll stick with the original quote. Now they keep saying they cannot get the tray and it will be another two months. I’ve already waited two months with the same response as the ute is in stock. I’ve also contacted the company that make the trays and they are in stock. What should I do in this situation? I’m lost but think I’m in the right; they are just making me wait or get it now with a different tray for $7000 more, which I haven’t got.
Is there a diesel mid-size SUV two or three-years-old that you'd recommend? I have an 11-year-old Captiva diesel which has been great, but may need to upgrade soon.
Which of the Toyota LandCruiser six-cylinder diesel motors is best/most reliable, from 2000 onward?
I am in the market to buy my second car - a small to mid-sized SUV - and my requirements are a car small enough for inner-city driving (fuel efficiency) but comfortable enough to drive Sydney to Brisbane regularly (all the safety features and latest tech). I’ve narrowed the search to a Hyundai Kona (2021 Elite or above) or a VW T-Roc (Style with luxury package). I can’t stand the look of the Kona’s ‘wagon’ shape but advice from mechanics tells me to stay clear of a European car and in particular VW due to reliability, warranty issues and scarcity of parts should something happen. Obviously it just comes down to personal preference but I’m keen to hear what someone in the car industry thinks. Any advice on which to pick would be greatly appreciated?
Hi, I hear that certain used car models are in high demand and going up in price right now. I am about to buy a car for about $5k. Is there a car you recommend? A standard, manual or automatic car is fine.
I am looking to buy a 2013 Hyundai i30 SE automatic for my first car. It costs $13,500 which is around my budget. Overall, it seems like a good deal, but my only concern is that is has done 108,000 kms. Is this too much for this type of car? Are these Hyundais known to have problems after this amount of kilometres have been clocked up? How long would you predict the car would last me? If the car is in good condition and well taken care of, will the 108,000km affect its lifespan?
We are close to putting a deposit down on the Isuzu MU-X as it is on runout pricing. But with your experience on the new D-Max, do you think it would be worth waiting (and spending an extra $6000a) for the new model as it is likely to be fairly similar?
