The third-generation five-seat, five-door Hyundai i30 Active small hatch was launched in May 2017.

The front wheel drive hatch is available with either a 2.0-litre petrol engine or a 1.6-litre turbo diesel engine. The petrol can be had with either a six-speed manual or six-speed auto, while the diesel can be optioned with a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

The i30 Active starts at $20,950 before on road costs, a price reduction of $500 over the outgoing machine.

It sits at the bottom of the price list beneath the Active 2.0-litre petrol auto at $23,250, the Active 1.6-litre diesel manual at $23,450, and the Active 1.6-litre diesel with DCT at $25,950.

The i30 then splits into Sports models including the SR 1.6-litre petrol manual ($25,950), SR 1.6-litre petrol (DCT) $28,950 and SR Premium 1.6-litre petrol (DCT) $33,950.

There's also a Comfort range comprising the i30 Elite 1.6-litre diesel (DCT) at $28,950 and the range topping i30 Premium 1.6-litre diesel with DCT at $33,950.

The Active range features 16-inch alloys, LED daytime lamps, automatic headlights and a tyre pressure monitor as standard.

As well, every i30 has satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity via an 8.0-inch colour infotainment screen.
