China’s Leapmotor has rolled out another software update for its C10 battery electric (BEV) and range-extender (REEV) mid-size SUV.
This latest over-the-air software update first became available to existing owners on September 19.
A highlight is the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) have been fettled and revised to make the driving experience “more seamless”.

Almost all the ADAS switches can be operated while in drive or reverse, the adaptive cruise control and lane centring have been “refined”, the lane-keep assist has been “enhanced for better sensitivity and performance”, plus the fault icons for the driver attention alert and driver drowsiness alert have been moved to the digital instrument cluster.
Additionally, all the audio alerts for the ADAS functions have been softened and shortened.
A new user memory setting allows drivers to save presets for certain ADAS and driving modes, which can be activated using a customisable steering wheel button.
There’s a new 360-degree dashcam functionality that’s available which operates while the vehicle is running. It saves the footage directly to a USB.
Other minor changes include a further refinement to the multimedia system user interface, upgraded navigation, digital key sharing, as well as addition of the Radioline digital radio app and QDLink app which allows for screen projection from Android devices.
Leapmotor C10 owners can download this software update over-the-air provided they are connected to a Wi-Fi network. Once the update is downloaded via the central multimedia display, the driver will be prompted to install the update.
Although this update does address a number of issues, it notably doesn’t include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.
According to Leapmotor, the C10 in its current form isn’t capable of offering the smartphone mirroring technology as it’s based on the company’s 'Leap 3.0' platform. Vehicles with the Leap 3.5 platform onward offer it.
The Leapmotor C10 first launched in Australia in BEV guise only at the start of 2025, with the REEV following around mid-2025.
In the first 10 months of 2025, a total of 509 examples of the C10 have been sold. This is down considerably on the Tesla Model Y (17,972 YTD sales), which is still Australia’s best-selling EV.
Even other new Chinese EVs like the BYD Sealion 7 (9824 YTD sales) and Geely EX5 (3358 YTD sales) have outsold the C10.
Only the Deepal S07 (217 YTD sales), which is distributed locally by Inchcape, has been slower-selling than the C10.
Leapmotor is soon set to launch the smaller B10 in Australia and in the second half of 2026 will launch the B05 hatchback.
