Upgrading from Golf to Tiguan?

Would you recommend the Volkswagen Tiguan? I have a Golf but am having a baby soon so need to update the car to fit a pram etc. I didn't want a huge car but one still large enough to accommodate baby stuff.

The Tiguan is good enough, but Mazda's CX-5 is even better.
