The warranty expired a year ago now, and had expired when you approached Mercedes about it last April. Talk to Mercedes and try to enlist their help, but I doubt you will have any success.

It depends on what you plan to do with it. If you want to tour along bush tracks it will do the job well, but if you want to drive down deeply rutted, rocky tracks then park it and get something better for that type of work.
If that’s what you want then look at a serious off-roader.

The GLA 35 has a nine-speaker stereo, dual-zone climate control, reversing camera, keyless entry and start, front and rear parking sensors, active cruise control, electric front seats with heating, sat nav, auto LED headlights, leather seats and steering wheel, auto parking, power tailgate, auto wipers, panoramic sunroof and wireless phone charging. The MBUX system on the second of two 10.25-inch touchscreens includes Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The interior has leather seats, AMG steering wheel and the twin-screen MBUX system. The new GLA has more space courtesy of a longer wheelbase than the old car and a 435 litre boot.
The GLA 35 is a five-seat SUV.
