The Geely Starray arrived as a fresh contender in the mid-size SUV segment during its 2022 global debut. Known in China as the Boyue L, it replaced earlier iterations of the Boyue nameplate with a more modern design language. The model uses the Compact Modular Architecture platform shared with several European luxury brands.
Geely introduced the Geely Starray to the Australian market as a key pillar of its local expansion. This launch brought the 2026 Geely Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid variant to showrooms, targeting buyers who want electrified efficiency without full battery reliance. Overseas markets like Russia and parts of Eastern Europe often sell the same vehicle under the Geely Atlas name.
The 2025 update marked a significant shift in technology and interior quality for the brand. Recent generational improvements focus on the GEEA 3.0 electronic architecture to support faster infotainment and smarter safety systems.
The line-up currently starts at $37,490 for the Starray Em-I Complete and ranges through to $41,490 for the range-topping Starray Em-I Inspire Extended Range.

The Geely Starray EM-i is available in six colours - 'Alpine White', 'Polar Black', 'Glacier Blue', 'Jungle Green', 'Volcanic Grey' and 'Cloudveil Silver'.
Standard equipment on the Geely Starray EM-i includes 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and tail-lights, keyless entry and ignition, power adjustable front seats with heating and an infotainment system run through a 15.4-inch display.
The interior design is dominated by the huge 15.4-inch display that takes pride of place on the centre of dashboard. Then there’s the increasingly common 10.2-inch rectangular digital instrument display ahead of the steering wheel.
While this setup is highly functional, it does add to the generic design mentioned earlier. It also lacks any meaningful physical buttons, with the key audio and air-con functions all housed in the giant centre screen.
The Geely Starray EM-i is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor. It makes 193kW of power.
