Carsguide Contributing Journalist Mark Oastler had this to say at the time: The latest Fiat Ducato, in MWB MR configuration with optional nine-speed auto, is a competent competitor in the 3501-8000kg GVM segment. Its class-leading two-tonne-plus payload rating would have considerable appeal for those who need to carry exceptionally heavy loads and we couldn’t find any major flaws in its design and performance. However, the warranty is short and there are niggling issues in terms of driver comfort, which if addressed would increase the Ducato’s appeal.

The Fiat Ducato is also known as Citroën Jumper, Citroën Relay, Peugeot Boxer, Ram ProMaster in markets outside Australia.
It’s difficult to say what could be causing the problem, because it would seem to be intermittent ad they are the hardest problems of all to solve. By turning it off you are in effect rebooting the computer, so it will run normally until the next time it detects the problem. To have any chance of diagnosing the problem it needs to be evident when the mechanic does his check. If it’s not there’s nothing to see. It could be a number of things; all you can do it to persist in the hope that it will show up during a diagnostic check.

I've driven both and much prefer the Sprinter. The "manumatic" in the Fiat is not good and I prefer the way the Benz sits on the road, how it performs over bumps and its resistance to crosswinds.

There are a number of possible explanations, from the turbocharger, to the fuel pump, and the injectors. Your dealer should be able to diagnose the problem, if not, take it to another dealer. If that also fails take it to a diesel engine specialist.

There's a multi-adjustable driver's seat with fold-down inboard armrest. The separate dual passenger seat features a full three-point central seatbelt.
A sealed steel bulkhead separates the cabin from the cargo bay, insulating driver and passengers from cargo bay noise and doubling as a robust cargo barrier. Leg room for the centre passenger is unusually generous, even for tall adults, which would be appreciated by a crew of three.
