Best platform for a motorhome?

Asked by Garry Feutrill

Here is one that you do not normally cover or look at but I hope you can express your usual solid opinion. If you were considering the purchase of a 25-foot motorhome and were offered it on a choice of platform, either Fiat Ducato 3.0-litre turbo diesel with front-wheel drive or Mercedes Sprinter 3.0-litre with rear-wheel drive, how do they compare?

I've driven both and much prefer the Sprinter. The "manumatic" in the Fiat is not good and I prefer the way the Benz sits on the road, how it performs over bumps and its resistance to crosswinds.
