The Audi Q6 e-tron Performance is the entry option to the mid-size electric SUV range.

Priced from $115,500 before on-roads, it is the only option in the range to be rear-wheel drive as opposed to all-wheel drive, offering the lowest outputs at a still impressive 225kW/485Nm, allowing a 0-100km/h sprint time of 6.6 seconds.

The Performance shares the same 94.9kWh battery as the rest of the Q6 range, granting it a WLTP-certified 558km of driving range between charges. The base Performance has an official combined energy consumption rating of 19.0kWh/100km.

On the topic of charging, the Q6 e-tron's new PPE platform and 800-volt architecture allows an ultra-fast DC peak charging speed of 270kW, for a 10 to 80 per cent charge time in 21 minutes.

Standard equipment on this base version includes 19-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights, and the full suite of screens and software, consisting of a 14.5-inch OLED multimedia touchscreen in the centre, a 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.9-inch passenger multimedia display. It also scores wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, with a wireless charger up front. The base speakers are a 10-speaker 180-watt sound set-up.

It also features leather interior trim as well as heated front and rear outer seats with tri-zone climate.

All Q6 e-tron grades get the same array of active safety equipment, which includes an upgraded auto emergency braking suite, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, driver attention alert and adaptive cruise control with stop and go function.

Additionally, there are three option packs. The 'Tech Pro' package ($4900) includes air suspension, animated OLED rear lights and an electric steering column.

Next up the 'Style' package ($5500) adds S-Line exterior panels, privacy glass, black highlights and 20-inch wheels.

Finally the 'Premium' package ($8900) adds a panoramic sunroof, an AR head-up display, a Bang and Olufsen audio system, colour ambient lighting, acoustic front glass panels and high-output USB ports.

The Q6 e-tron is offered with a five-year warranty, six years of roadside assist, and an industry standard eight-year/160,000km battery warranty. It also scores a one-year Chargefox subscription.
