Only 400 Trailblazer Z71s have, so far, been made, and as a result those buyers form an exclusive bunch.

The Z71 gets black 18-inch alloy wheels and black treatments for the B-pillars, exterior mirrors, door handles and side mouldings, and leather-appointed seat trim, on top of the LT’s Apple Car Play and Android Auto, shift-on-the-fly 4WD and a rear view camera, the LTZ’s integrated satnav, blind spot alert, forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, and heated front seats. The Z71 also has Z71 logos embroidered in the headrests and unique* floor mats. (*Holden’s description not mine.)

The Z71 has the same 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine (147kW at 3600rpm and 500Nm at 2000rpm) and six-speed auto combination as the LT and LTZ.

All Trailblazers have a five-star ANCAP rating.

It only costs $1000 more than the impressive LTZ so, if you’re that way inclined, why the hell not throw down your hard-earned cash on this bad boy?
