It’s been another huge year at CarsGuide, especially when it comes to our video content.

Our wonderful readers are hungry for as many video reviews as we can muster so look out for even more in 2025.

But before the year is out, we are counting down your favourite videos from the past 12 months. There’s a lot of interest in EVs, utes and off-roaders, but you might notice a theme at the top, if you remember last year’s winner…

10. Tesla Model 3 Performance 2025 review: More power, new dampers and seats for updated electric car

It’s fair to say there has been significant interest in the facelifted Tesla Model 3 on our site, specifically for the flagship Performance grade. Our intrepid contributor Stephen Corby sampled the updated sports EV in the USA, but is it as good as you think it is?

9. Tesla Model 3 beater? BYD Seal 2024 review: Premium | Is this new electric car the best EV sedan?

Another electric sedan proved popular this year and it’s the one most likely to cause Tesla some headaches. The BYD Seal was the follow up to the Atto 3 SUV and the sleek sedan grabbed a lot of attention.

8. Mitsubishi Triton vs Isuzu D-Max 2025 comparison review: The best dual-cab pick-up for tradies is?

No surprise this made the top 10 list. Four-wheel-drive utes are big business Down Under and a new Triton is always a big deal. But how did it stack up against the solid formula of the Isuzu D-Max?

7. BYD Sealion 6 2024 review: Is the new plug-in hybrid SUV a good Toyota RAV4 Hybrid alternative?

Another BYD video? Looks like the new Chinese carmaker captured the attention of a lot of Aussies this year. This video focusses on the Sealion 6 plug-in hybrid family SUV. Is it a more compelling package than a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV?

6. Kia Sorento 2024 review: Major facelift for Hyundai Santa Fe rival heats up 7-seat SUV competition!

It’s not just cool EVs and butch utes getting all the attention. The facelifted Kia Sorento seven-seater was one of our most watched videos in 2024, highlighting how strong the family SUV segment is, and how much pull the Kia brand has these days.

5. GWM Haval Jolion Hybrid 2024 review: Ultra | Long-term small SUV test of Toyota Corolla Cross rival

Chinese giant GWM’s biggest selling model, by a decent margin, is the Haval Jolion. In a sea of affordable small SUVs, this one is now the third most popular in the country. Our Senior Journalist Tom White lived with one for three months to find out if it’s a bop or a flop.

4. Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2025 review: Updated 4WD rival to new Ford Everest gets put to off-road test

Who says a car has to be new and shiny to get views? Case in point, the Pajero Sport, Mitsubishi’s Triton-based off-roader, got a mild facelift this year, and the old girl is as popular as ever. But is it the most watched off-roader video this year..?

3. Tesla Model Y 2024 review: Long Range | Is this the best new electric SUV for family car buyers?

More EVs, more Tesla! The Model Y is one of the top-selling SUVs in Australia in 2024 so there’s little surprise it captured so many eyeballs. We tested the Long Range to see how it stacks up as a family hauler.

2. Ford Everest Sport 2024 review: A new 7-seat 4WD for families who love turbo-diesel V6s?

Sorry Mitsubishi, but you're not the most watched 4x4 video. That honour belongs to the Ford and its big and brawny Everest Sport, which was put through its paces as a family car by our contributor, Emily Agar.

1. Mahindra XUV700 2025 review: Black Edition | A cut-price 7-seat SUV alternative to Nissan X-Trail!

What’s that saying about history repeating? For those that remember last year’s results (check the link above), this won’t be a surprise. But the 2024 Mahindra XUV700 Black Edition topped our list of most watched videos this year. It might still be a relative minnow in Australia, especially compared with some of the Chinese brands, but Mahindra is punching above its weight.

Calling out the make and model of every single car he saw as a toddler might have challenged his parents’ patience, but it was clearly a starting point for Tim Nicholson’s journey into automotive journalism. Tim launched the program, Fender Bender, on community radio station JOY 94.9 during completion of his Master of Arts (Media and Communications). This led to an entry role at industry publication GoAuto, before eventually taking the role of Managing Editor. A stint as RACV’s Motoring Editor – including being an Australia’s Best Cars judge – provided a different perspective to automotive media, before leading him to CarsGuide where he started as a Contributing Journalist in September 2021, and transitioned to Senior Editor in April 2022, before becoming Managing Editor in December 2022.
