A Ram-badged SUV is in the works, and here is what it could look like.

Earlier this year, Ram confirmed it would introduce its first SUV in 2028, according to US motoring publication Automotive News

The SUV will be built in North America, in the brand’s Michigan factory. It is said to be offered in two variants, which are a petrol and a hybrid

Famous for its full-size off-road-ready utes, an SUV is a serious switch-up for the Stellantis-owned brand.

We've commissioned digital artist Thanos Pappas to give us a glimpse of what a future Ram SUV could look like.

The render images show the Ram SUV with a similar grille and front design as the 1500 ute, but elsewhere the car has undergone big changes as expected.

The images suggests the SUV will be at least a seven or eight-seater.

One render image shows that it keeps its off-road pedigree, with high ground clearance, sturdy wheel arches, and rooftop lighting for rugged duties.

Other images show a more luxurious alternative, with glistening alloy wheels and a lower ground clearance.

Ram’s range currently consists of entirely full-size pick-ups in petrol and diesel variants.

The cheapest new Ram in Australia is the 1500 Laramie, which starts from $141,950, before on-road costs.

The Ram 1500 is the best-selling full-size pick-up in Australia, with more than 2500 sales to the end of November 2025.

Its sales figures are superior to the other big American pick-ups in the Chevrolet Silverado and Ford’s F-150, which are known for their unrivalled popularity in North America.

Due to the Ram SUV being built in North America, it is likely that any example which came to Australia would have to be re-manufactured to right-hand drive.

This is a common process for many of America’s full-size utes, including Ram’s range, with the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado undergoing the same process.

It has not been confirmed whether any Ram SUV would make its way Down Under, with production of the car still several years away.

If it did come to Australia, it would be a rival for the GMC Yukon eight-seater large SUV, which starts from $174,990, before on-road costs.
