Australia's fifth-best selling ute, the Mazda BT-50, has once again been hit with a recall.
According to the Federal Government's recall notice, 10,957 BT-50s sold between 2020 and 2021 may have a faulty fuel hose.
The notice warns, "the fuel hose may have been installed incorrectly and may come into contact with the engine oil level dipstick mounting bracket. As a result, fuel may leak from the damaged hose, and, in the presence of an external ignition source result in a vehicle fire."
"A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders and/or damage to property."
Judging by 2020-2021 sales data from Mazda, the issue is likely to affect all vehicles sold during that period.

If readers are unsure, they can check for their VIN number here on the government's recall list.
Mazda will contact owners to arrange a time for their fuel pump to be inspected and, if necessary, replaced at their nearest dealer free of charge.
It follows an even bigger recall notice issued earlier this month that affected the Engine Control Module (ECM) of more than 55,000 BT-50s sold in Australia between 2020 and 2024.
