The Alfa Romeo Tonale features synthetic leather seat trim as standard, with eight-way power adjust for the driver as well as heating and ventilation. It also features a 10.25-inch multimedia touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital dash.

There are two drivetrain options for the Tonale range. It can be chosen in either Ibrida form, consisting of a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and small transmission-mounted electric motor, producing a combined 128kW/240Nm. It drives the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Meanwhile, the plug-in hybrid version comes with a smaller 1.3-litre engine paired to a larger electric motor for a combined 198kW of power, with a six-speed transmission and all-wheel drive.

Driving range for the Ibrida is around 1000km for a full tank, while the eAWD plug-in hybrid can travel 54km in fully electric mode, with a combined range of around 573km.

Standard equipment on the Alfa Romeo Tonale range includes 19-inch alloy wheels, matrix LED headlights, a 10.25-inch multimedia touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as over-the-air connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, an electrochromic rear vision mirror, dual zone climate, keyless entry, privacy rear glass and a power tailgate.

The Alfa Romeo Tonale is a five-seat mid-size SUV with seats clad in a combination of materials depending on trim level. A red leather interior trim is optional.

The base Tonale Ibrida can sprint from 0-100km/h in 8.5 seconds, while the eAWD plug-in can complete the sprint in 6.6 seconds. The mild-hybrid reaches 212 km/h, while the updated plug-in hybrid reaches 206km/h (and up to 135 km/h in full-electric mode).
