The warranty on our 2013 Nissan Pulsar expired three months ago, and now the transmission has broken down. Should this occur in a brand new car and who should pay for this repair? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tip for repairing diesel injectors
By Graham Smith · 30 Sep 2016

In reference to Henry Mokadsi's question about his Toyota Hilux injectors I had an RA7 Isuzu Rodeo 3.0-litre diesel and two injectors went. Holden quoted me $1800 per injector, but AG Diesel in Victoria repaired both on an exchange basis for approx. $650 each. It would be worth contacting them if they are close, otherwise search for similar business closer.

Why is my A5 using so much oil and what can I do about it?
By Graham Smith · 23 Sep 2016

I bought a one-owner 2009 Audi A5 with 92,000 km on the clock and a full service history after doing my research and finding that it had passed an oil consumption test. Fast-forward to today and I find that it's used two litres of oil in the last 3000 km. I called the dealer, and they're asking $800 to have another oil consumption test done. The car has a full and faultless service history, and this issue really has me frustrated. I've made initial contact with Audi to see what they can do, but I'm not particularly hopeful there that they'll do the right thing. Can you assist?

Ford Focus transmission shuddering
By Graham Smith · 23 Sep 2016

The transmission in my sister's 2014 Ford Focus has been a problem since the first week she purchased the car a little over 18 months ago. Since then the car has had numerous software updates, two clutch replacements, in total eight trips back to the dealer to try and solve the issue. It is now a little over a week since the last clutch replacement and the car has started shuddering again. A case has been submitted with Ford Australia only for them to offer $5000 on a trade-in and hardly any reduction on a new vehicle. My sister paid $24,000 for this car a little over 18 months ago. It's a death trap and Ford Australia has now closed the case and pretty much have said too bad! Where do we go from here?

Toyota HiLux 2007: Rattling Engine
By Graham Smith · 16 Sep 2016

My 2007 Toyota Hilux SR5 diesel has the infamous death rattle where my fuel-injectors need to be replaced. The cost for Toyota to do it is $4000. I have always filled my car from BP or Shell. There are so many complaints online, but there is nothing being done by Toyota. How is it that it is not being recalled? Is there someone who can help me with a more current solution to this major problem?

Mitsubishi Outlander 2016: Possible electric issues?
By Graham Smith · 16 Sep 2016

When I go to start my 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander there is a few seconds delay. They dealer is telling me this is normal, but is it? The power steering is also heavy, but they have told me there is nothing wrong. When I first got it the power steering dropped out, then came back. If you read the manual it states that if you use the car and drive around corners too many times this could affect the power steering, this happened within the first 3 weeks of having it.

Ford Mondeo 2009: Is there a problem with my radiator?
By Graham Smith · 16 Sep 2016

The engine thermo fan on my 2009 Ford Mondeo 2.3-litre tends to run very fast for about 40 seconds when the ignition is turned off. It did it even when car was new. The dealer told me they could not find any fault codes and checked cooling system and said everything fine. But it seems like the radiator is too small for Australian conditions.

Mitsubishi Triton 2015: Shuddering
By Graham Smith · 16 Sep 2016

Some time after buying a 2015 Mitsubishi Triton GLX-R an issue arose when it started to shudder when driving at 60-80 km/h. After 5-6 visits to the dealer they changed the injectors and some other parts and it was good for a month before starting again. This time the ABS and traction control lights come on and stay on for a while. The dealer said the computer has detected a low voltage, as in a low battery. I have done 65,000 km. Surely this cannot happen. Recently, the gearbox started to jump after a cold start, but is ok when the engine warms up. With my last contact with the dealer said, they are expecting a "Mitsubishi Rep" to their workshop, but I am waiting nearly with no outlook. Please help me.
