How can I know if a used car's odometer has been tampered with?
By Graham Smith · 23 Dec 2016

Someone wants to sell my sister a 2001 Nissan Pulsar, which she has been told has only done 30,000 kilometres. Is this possible without the odometer being tampered with? I feel that something is not right.

Ford Fiesta 2013: Gearbox shuddering
By Graham Smith · 23 Dec 2016

I have a 2013 Ford Fiesta that has had one clutch replacement and many 'software updates' and supposed fixes, and while the shuddering and jerking subsided for a couple of months after the new clutch was fitted it has returned and jerks and shudders and changes gears harshly and stalls when the car heats up. It was tested by the dealership that insists the readings are under the required amount for a replacement gearbox. What does this mean? The car was driven at walking pace to assess the fault and not under normal driving conditions so of course the car drove fine for the 10 minutes they tested it. Ford head office won't do anything because the dealership tested it and found no fault; it shuddered and stalled five minutes on the way home from the dealership! Any suggestions? Should I get the gearbox independently tested? Are these cars just terrible to drive or unsafe?

Mazda BT-50 2016: Suspension and servicing problems
By Graham Smith · 16 Dec 2016

I have purchased around 28 2016 Mazda BT50's for a service fleet and I'm having issues with the suspension and Mazda are refusing to do anything. I have a service report from a Mazda dealer that recommends that the suspension should be upgraded but still they refuse. I will never buy another Mazda of any description again, not due to the suspension but the fact they do not want to admit or take responsibility. I believe that these vehicles are dangerous and would like to hear from anyone else with similar problems.

Toyota Aurion 2006: Dashboard falling apart
By Graham Smith · 16 Dec 2016

In 2006 I bought a new Toyota Aurion. We put a dash mat on it straight away and it has been there ever since, but over the last few years we have noticed that the dash under the mat is very sticky and starting to fall apart. I have read on forums that Toyota will not replace them as they say there is not an issue. Can you tell me if I have any chance of getting this replaced by Toyota or not?

Isuzu MU-X 2016: Transmission shudder and noise
By Graham Smith · 16 Dec 2016

I have a 2016 Isuzu MU-X. When the cruise control is disengaged by applying pressure on the footbrake at speeds over 80km/h there is a shudder and a noise from the transmission as it appears to go into neutral and then back into gear. The dealer advises this is normal for this vehicle. How do you think this can be fixed, or is it a fault in the car?

Isuzu D-Max 2016: Radio faults
By Graham Smith · 16 Dec 2016

The radio head unit in my 2016 Isuzu D-Max LS-T has a list of 10 faults, but the dealer or manufacturer won't do anything to address the issues. I have lodged the issue with Office of Fair Trading and am wondering is there anywhere else you could suggest I could get help with this issue.

Ford Kuga 2013: Shuddering and clunking
By Graham Smith · 09 Dec 2016

We had not had an ounce of trouble with our 2013 Ford Kuga until the last few months when it started clunking and banging in the rear. Our dealer put it on the computer and said that they had found and fixed the problem, but it recently started again. It seems to be at its worst when travelling slowly in traffic or backing off as you approach lights. With the amount of shuddering and clunking it was doing we were concerned that the rear-end could drop out of the car. Have other owners have had this problem?
