Car Servicing
I have a 2008 Ford Escape, it requires a new transmission at 170,000km which will be $5000 to replace. Is it worth fixing or time for the wreckers?
My 2019 Isuzu D-Max plastic engine cover has broken arms after a service. I was advised this is a common problem and told I would need to buy a new one. The car only has 4500km and two of the legs have been reattached with superglue as per service-advice team. So this means that it would have been broken during the 3000km service? If it is a common problem then surely it would be a warranty issue? What can I do here?
My vehicle is a petrol engine Mazda B2600 1990 model and am having trouble getting it started after changing the spark plugs. What should I do to get it start?
Is it normal for a vehicle’s gearbox to be worn out in such a short time? Our one-year-old Toyota HiAce van’s gearbox has apparently failed/worn-down, and we are being told it's not covered by warranty. The vehicle has been driven 15,000km by an experienced driver who has only ever purchased and driven HiAce vans in his tradesman job where he is on road every day and who has never had this issue in 35 years. We have been quoted to replace flywheel, clutch kit and pilot bearing. Parts cost is $4429.00 and labour is $1000.00. We don't understand how all this is possible on a new car that has been serviced at 1000km and 10,000km.
There is a slow coolant leak between the motor and transmission in my 2015 Holden Commodore. How common is this problem? Apparently the exhaust system and transmission have to be removed to fix the leak?
