Car Servicing
I have a 2007 Holden Captiva diesel that keeps going into limp mode, the temp gauge goes straight to hot and the warning light comes on. You turn if off for a few minutes and then drive a km or two and goes into limp mode. The cooling system is working fine, fans, thermostat, water pump, radiator have all been checked. Temp sensor has been replaced. No codes recorded. The problem is from the computer to the dash wiring. The motor is not getting hot. Any suggestions?
After 30-40 minutes driving the temperature in my 2007 Mazda 3 suddenly drops to zero and the car immediately stops. I have to wait at least 15 minutes to return to normal.
I have a 2012 Ford Territory diesel, which I purchased new and have had all log book services done.
Last month, after I had a clink checked, the diff bushes, front sway bar links and ball joints were replaced. The clink has got worse and I’m now told I need a new transmission after only 120,000 km. I’m not too keen on the quoted $6000, although they have said they would ask Ford if they will assist outside warranty. This seems like a major fault, I’m wondering what my options are? I’m pretty disappointed, until recently it’s been a good car, but I’m thinking perhaps I should just cut my losses and sell it.
Any advice?
In 2016 I purchased a 2013 Holden Cruze from a second-hand dealer. Before me it had been serviced at a Holden dealership, but since I purchased it I’ve stopped servicing it at the dealer's.
I had it serviced late this year, approx. 15,000 km over what was recommended. It started playing up, I took it for a service, and it was still playing up. Code 089 kept coming up (oil change). I took it to an automotive electrical company because I thought it might need a tune, but their recommendation after their work was done was to take it to a mechanic, as their findings were the piston rings needed replacing. I took it to a mechanic to find that one of the pistons they took out had a chunk of metal missing.
I contacted Holden and raised a claim, but I have been told the due to the late servicing and crap oil used have been the contributing factors to why my car is in this state, and they won’t help with any of the repair costs. Any advice?
My 2001 Suzuki Baleno 1.6 auto is running well, but sometimes after I drive around 30-40 km, or if the weather is hot, it won't restart after I’ve turned it off.
If I leave it, and let the engine cool down it just starts easily with no issues. I haven’t been able to find any solution anywhere. Can you help?
I’m looking at purchasing a 2012-2014 Ford Territory diesel to tow a caravan. Should I install a transmission oil cooler?
I have a squeaky front seat in my 2018 Mitsubishi Pajero. When I took it back I was told there was nothing wrong with it. They lubricated it and now a week later the squeak is back.
What can I do now?
When I press the accelerator pedal in my 2018 Toyota HiAce I hear whistling sound in my engine. Can you give me possible problems of my car?
How much oil should I put in my 1990 Ford Fairmont when changing oil?
