Holden Captiva 2007: Broken temp gauge

I have a 2007 Holden Captiva diesel that keeps going into limp mode, the temp gauge goes straight to hot and the warning light comes on. You turn if off for a few minutes and then drive a km or two and goes into limp mode. The cooling system is working fine, fans, thermostat, water pump, radiator have all been checked. Temp sensor has been replaced. No codes recorded. The problem is from the computer to the dash wiring. The motor is not getting hot. Any suggestions?

The computer is getting a message that the engine is overheating. You have replaced the temperature sensor, so check the connections, and the wiring looking for a wire that might have shorted out.
