Instead of waiting for Tesla to release its own pick-up, a Swedish YouTuber living in the US decided to make one herself.

Simone Giertz took a Model 3 and transformed the four-door sedan into a two-door beaut ute.

Called ‘Truckla’, she brought a brand-new standard range Model 3, stripped out the interior and cut the roof back from the B pillar.

The structural rigidity was affected by this, so a roll cage was fitted to prevent the car from falling in on itself.

Simone and her crack team of engineers then proceeded to add the rear cab from a GMC Canyon and the tray bed from a Ford F150.

To top off her creation, a lumber rack and spotlights were also added to give this Tesla a workhorse look.

If you want a more in-depth look at how Truckla was born, check out this other vid from Simone.

Elon is going to have a hard time trying to top this.

Will the Truckla be better than Tesla's actual ute? Let us know in the comments.

Following a passion shared by his father and grandfather, Mitchell’s love of cars really kicked off with his Godfather’s purchase of a new Mazda RX-8. Exposure to that car changed his world forever, leading to an RX-7 obsession. To feed his automotive addiction, Mitchell decided to become a motoring journalist and made his mark at several high-profile motoring publications before landing at CarsGuide. While he is a rotary loyalist, Mitchell also has a massive love for Aussie muscle cars, and dreams of one day getting behind the wheel of a Charger R/T E49 (if anyone will let him). His other passions include Queensland, and spending Saturdays with the boys.
