The ute has gone from right-hand drive to left-hand drive and now the LS1 V8 engine gets some flashy new parts.
Over at Hoonigan, the guys are slowly getting their Forza inspired VY Commodore ute together.
After the Holden was converted to left-hand drive and the electrics were all wired up, the team has moved onto adding a bit of spice to the 6.0-litre V8 taken from a Pontiac GTO.
Holley Performance products which have a long association with muscle cars, are the parts of choice to use for the ute.
Components such as the intake manifold, valve covers, and throttle body are the new bits getting added to the engine and other than receiving a clean not much else was changed on the V8.
The guys aren't expecting to get much life out of the engine, so the likes of the camshaft, timing chain and bearings are going untouched.
Next step of the project is to install the LS1 into the ute and send it off for a widebody kit.
This isn't the first crazy thing Hoonigan has done, with their lastest stunt involving Ken Block smoking up Pikes Peak.
