The Lux is now the entry-level trim in the local 2026 GWM Haval H6 line-up.
This latest update has seen the range pared back to just the Lux and Ultra trims. The previous, entry-level Premium as well as the blacked-out Vanta trims have been axed.
Available with either a petrol or hybrid powertrain, the Haval H6 Lux is priced from $35,990, drive-away, and $40,990, drive-away, respectively.
As standard all Haval H6 Lux variants feature 19-inch black alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch touchscreen multimedia system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 50W wireless phone charger and synthetic leather upholstery.
Boot capacity, regardless of the powertrain, is 560 litres with the rear seats upright. The petrol version has a space-saver spare wheel, whereas the hybrid only has a tyre repair kit.
Standard safety kit includes seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, driver fatigue monitoring, a surround-view camera and rear parking sensors.
The GWM Haval H6 Lux petrol is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which now produces 170kW and 380Nm. This is up 20kW and 60kW on the pre-update model.
It's now mated to a nine-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with drive sent to the front wheels only.
The powertrain for the Haval H6 Lux Hybrid, on the other hand, remains unchanged with this update. It includes a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor for total system outputs of 179kW and 530Nm.
This is mated to a 'Dedicated Hybrid Transmission' (DHT) with drive sent to the front wheels only.
Claimed fuel consumption for the Haval H6 Lux petrol and Haval H6 Lux Hybrid is 7.4L/100km and 5.2L/100km, respectively. All models have a 61L fuel tank and require a minimum of 91 RON regular unleaded petrol.
