The Deepal E07 was first unveiled in 2023 as part of Changan’s premium EV brand in China. It entered the market as a large electric SUV positioned above the smaller Deepal SL03 sedan and S07 crossover. The unusual, pick-up-inspired model was built on a dedicated EV platform with a focus on range and advanced driver technology, and it also carried the Shenlan name in some overseas markets.
In the years following launch, the Deepal E07 gained updates to battery capacity and software systems, reflecting the rapid pace of EV development in China. Changan expanded the brand’s presence outside China, with the model sold under different names depending on region. The E07 evolved to offer both long-range electric versions and range-extender hybrids, giving it wider appeal in export markets.
Today the Deepal E07 remains the flagship SUV of the brand. It competes with rivals like the BYD Tang, Nio ES8 and Li Auto L9. The model continues to showcase Changan’s push into global markets, highlighting a mix of electric innovation and large SUV practicality.
The line-up currently starts at $64,900 for the E07 Rwd and ranges through to $73,900 for the range-topping E07 Awd Performance.
