Subaru's sixth-generation Impreza brings with it some major changes to the interior, but also some minor upgrades to its style and design.
The 2.0R is the mid-spec grade sitting above the 2.0L and below the 2.0S, costing from $34,990 before on-roads. It adds premium cloth seat trim, additional charging ports for rear passengers, eight-way power adjustment for the driver's seat, heated front seats, a leather steering wheel and shifter, steering responsive LED headlights and LED fog lights.
This time around there's a completely redesigned dash with an 11.6-inch multimedia touchscreen across the range, but the Impreza carries over its 2.0-litre non-turbo 'boxer' engine from the fifth-generation version, producing 115kW/196Nm.
Setting the Impreza apart from its rivals is the standard all-wheel-drive system, with power sent to the wheels via a CVT automatic.
