The Ford Everest Ambiente is the entry-level spec Everest, sitting below the mid-spec Trend and the top-spec Titanium.

It is only offered with the 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbo-diesel engine and six-speed automatic transmission.

All Ambiente models are five-seaters no matter if they’re RWD or 4WD – but they can be optioned up with a third row for $1000.

Standard features include keyless entry, push-button start, reversing camera, rear parking sensors, 'SYNC 3' multimedia (with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), an 8.0-inch colour touchscreen, fabric seat trim, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, and an active noise cancellation system.

Pricing for the Ambiente is: RWD 3.2L (five seats) $49,190; 3.2L RWD (seven seats) $50,190; 3.2L 4WD (five seats) $54,190; and 4WD 3.2L (seven seats) $55,190.

All engines are diesel. All variants have a five-star ANCAP safety rating from testing conducted in 2015. Safety tech includes hill start assist and more.
