Another hybrid SUV will join the increasingly popular segment.

The base K30 variant starts from $45,000 drive-away, with the up-spec K40 starting from $3000 more.

It has a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 110kW and 220Nm, which is paired with dual-electric motors that make 130kW and 300Nm.

These combine for a total power output of 150kW, but the company does not provide a combined torque figure.

According to KGM, this set-up allows for the car to operate primarily in EV mode when driving in city road conditions and at up to 100km/h.

The Hybrid will be distinguished from the petrol variant of the car by a new alloy wheel design, black C-pillar and 'Hybrid' badging.

It will look to hunt down Toyota’s RAV4 which accounts for more than 20 per cent sales in the medium SUV category for October 2025, coming in petrol and hybrid options. The RAV4 hybrid starts from $42,260, before on-road costs.

Other rivals for the Torres Hybrid include Cherry’s Tiggo 7 hybrid, which comes in cheaper at $29,990, drive-away, while the Haval H6 Lux hybrid is $40,990 drive-away.

A Torres petrol variant has been selling in Australia since late 2024, with a little over 350 sales in that time.

There are further plans for an all-electric Torres to launch before the end of the year.

Sales of the Torres Hybrid will start on 1 December.
