LDV’s vans and buses are safer, cleaner and sleeker, with the Chinese commercial brand announcing a stack of upgrades for its Deliver 9 range.
The manual option has been scrapped from the range, with an eight-speed automatic now paired as standard to the Deliver 9's upgraded Euro 6 compliant 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine along with additional safety features.
Drive-away prices start from a mere $2685 more than last year, for a starting price of $51,568, before on-road costs, or $48,990 drive-away for ABN holders.
The Deliver 9 is still considerably cheaper than its nearest competitors – the Fiat Ducato and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter – which start at $57,832 and $66,762 (both before on-road costs), respectively.
For the 2025 update, LDV's Deliver 9 van and bus carry a gold rating from ANCAP’s Commercial Van Safety Comparison. This is thanks to an upgraded safety suite, with blind-spot monitoring, lane change assist, door opening warning, emergency lane keeping and front parking sensors.
The auto emergency braking can now detect cyclists and pedestrians.
The Deliver 9's redeveloped engine see emissions meet the Euro 6 standard of 125mg of NOx gases per km, as well as a bump in power (20kW) and torque (45Nm) to 120kW/420Nm. The 2025 Deliver 9 achieves lower emissions thanks to a 20L Adblue tank, requiring periodic refills.
LDV continues to offer the Deliver 9 van in three options, a 'mid roof' medium-and long-wheelbase option and a 'high roof' long wheelbase option, while the Deliver 9 bus is offered in 11-seat, 12-seat or 14-seat mid roof options or 12- and 14-seat high roof options.
No changes have been made to the Deliver 9 van's physical dimensions for 2024, with the exception of a small increase to the side door opening height.
Ascending up the range, cargo volume remains the same as the 23MY version for the Deliver 9 van, at 9.66m3, 10.9m3 and 12.33m3.
The 2025 Deliver 9's added features have increased basic weight, eating slightly into the payload between 40-50kg, depending on trim.
Medium Wheel Base (Mid Roof) | Long Wheel Base (Mid Roof) | Long Wheel Base (High Roof) | |
Payload
(kg)2 | 1450 | 1600 | 1580 |
Tare weight
(kg)2 | 2291 | 2341 | 2361 |
Towing capacity across the range remains unchanged at 2800kg braked, 750kg unbraked, while the Bus's towing capacity remains the same at 2500kg braked and 750kg unbraked.
In terms of design, the Deliver 9 has a new gloss black radiator grille to distinguish it from the MY23 version.
Inside, a new multifunction steering wheel channels inputs from a new electronic power steering system, providing what LDV says is better parking and turning capacity.
There’s also a new 12.3-inch multimedia system (up from 10.1-inch on MY23 vehicles) that's fitted with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital radio and a rear-view camera (excludes cab chassis variant).
The gear selector has been moved to the steering column, freeing up room for two storage cubbies on the centre dashboard.
Long wheelbase medium and high roof vans will benefit from rear 236-degree double doors as standard, providing more space for the loading and unloading of cargo. For comparison, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is fitted with a 180-degree opening.
Owners of the MY24 eDeliver will also appreciate LDV’s new seven-year/200,000km warranty, up from three years last year, as well as capped price servicing, with a total cost over three years/95,000km of $2510.
