Chinese brand LDV has put out an urgent recall for thousands of its Deliver 9 vans in Australia.The recall concerns 8643 Deliver 9 examples from the 2019 to 2023 model years relating to a fuel leak issue, according to a Department of Infrastructure notice. “Due to a manufacturing defect, the low-pressure fuel delivery line may not meet specifications,” the notice reads.“As a result, it may deteriorate allowing fuel to potentially leak resulting in loss of motive power whilst driving, and in the presence of an external ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.”A spokesperson for LDV Australia said there have been no reported incidents of the issue occurring in Australia. Owners of affected vehicles should contact their local LDV dealer to make an appointment for inspection and subsequent fuel line replacement if required, free of charge. This latest recall notice supersedes the one published back in late 2024, which concerned nearly 12,000 Deliver 9 units from the 2021 to 2023 model years - also relating to a fuel leak issue.The Deliver 9 has been a steady seller in the segment up against other full-load vans like the Isuzu N-Series and the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.

Commercial van specialist LDV has recalled thousands of its vans for repairs after a defect relating to the airbags was discovered.

LDV recently introduced a factory-built camper variant of its popular Deliver 9 van, and as of this month dealerships are taking delivery of the recreational vehicle.

Renault Australia has simplified its Master van line-up to just two variants but it's offering a driveaway deal to ABN holders which will see them get on the road from $57,990. 

Ram and LDV, two brand’s under the umbrella of Australian vehicle distributor Ateco Group, have each been hit with recall notices, affecting the Ram 1500 and LDV Deliver 9 models.

LDV’s vans and buses are safer, cleaner and sleeker, with the Chinese commercial brand announcing a stack of upgrades for its Deliver 9 range.

Like some of its fellow relative newcomer brand from China, the LDV brand is on the up-and-up in Australia. But it's not small- or mid-size SUVs bulking up the brand's sales, LDV is instead quietly achieving on the light commercial vehicle front.

Like other Chinese-backed automakers in the last few years, LDV has gone from strength to strength, taking a solid percentage of market share away from its popular Japanese and Korean rivals.

LDV earmarks a big top-10 future, both in terms of sales and product.

LDV says it would love to offer a mid-size SUV, but can't offer a right-hand drive one just yet.
