The XLS is designed to bridge the gap between 4x4 XL and XLT models on price and features, offering a more appealing package for both fleet and private buyers without compromising the XL’s no-nonsense work-focused persona.
Based on the XL dual cab ute, it shares all of its features including Ford’s 'SYNC' multiple connectivity system with Emergency Assistance, USB/iPod integration, Bluetooth and hands-free phone and voice control, 4.2-inch colour multi-function display, 230-volt power inverter and 12-volt auxiliary socket, cruise control with steering wheel-mounted buttons, electronic locking differential, inner and outer tie-down points, load box illumination, rear view camera and rear parking sensors and more.
The XLS grade adds chunky unique 16-inch alloy wheels with P225/70R16 tyres, front fog lights, 'London Grey' colour-accented grille and exterior mirrors plus full carpeting with driver’s floor mat.
It’s available only as a 4x4 dual cab ute with either the 2.2-litre TDCi four cylinder turbo-diesel ($45,590 man/$47,790 auto) or the larger 3.2-litre TDCi five cylinder turbo-diesel and a choice of manual ($48,090) or automatic ($55,590).
