Tesla Roadster Australia

From the imagination of Elon Musk comes one of the most outlandish cars ever – provided the second-generation Tesla Roadster actually makes it to production.

The first-generation model may have borrowed heavily from Lotus when it launched here in 2011, but the second-gen model is, like the man behind it, a bit out of this world. With an imagined 0-100km/h time of 2.1 seconds, a top speed of 402km/h, 1000km of driving range and 10,000Nm of torque, the Tesla Roadster is nothing if not ambitious.

The Tesla Roadster is not yet available in Australia.

  • Who makes Tesla cars?

Tesla actually produces its own vehicles in its factory based out of Fremont, California. The first Tesla production car, the original Roadster, was largely manufactured by Lotus in the UK, with the final assembly of US-bound models taking place in California. Roadsters destined for all other markets received final assembly at a facility located near Lotus' Hethel headquarters.
