Recently, after parking my 2012 Hyundai i40 in my driveway and turning off the engine I heard a loud bang. I thought something had landed on the car only to see that the rear glass had exploded. I have not heard of this happening before, especially given that the ambient temperature was 15 degrees C. Hyundai was not helpful, they claim the glass is not a warranty item. The dealerships were equally unhelpful and would not give me priority when taking the car in to have it repaired and I had to wait a week. My children could have been hurt if they were in the car when the glass shattered. Should I pursue the warranty further or take up the matter with the Ombudsman?

We bought a new Mazda 6 in November. The sunlight coming through the windscreen stings our eyes. We had a Mazda6 nine years ago which was a 2005 model, and in-between there have been two Volkswagen Jettas. Has there been a change in the angle of the window? I have resorted to spreading a shirt on my knees as a front passenger but when I am driving, and being further forward, I need to wear a scarf to protect my neck right down to the tummy. Is there a solution?

My 6 months old Suzuki Swift is a great drive, but it wanders. I've had it wheel aligned and adjusted the tyre pressures, but it made no difference. Any ideas?

What are the rules if any for carrying the pet dog in a sedan or any other vehicle for that matter?

Last week the engine management on my son’s 2014 Holden Colorado diesel light came on, so he parked the car and took it to the nearest Holden dealer the following morning, even though the light had gone out by then. He was told to leave it there and they would look at it on the 4th of Feb. As the car is still under warranty he rang the dealer he bought the car off and was told they could do nothing until the 9th Feb. This means that he will have to wait at least two weeks to have someone look at his car, which is under warranty. As he has reported the engine light issue, but it has gone out, is he safe to pick the car up and drive it as long as the light does not come back on? I think having to wait two weeks is ridiculous. What do you think?

Any news yet on whether Kia has rectified the front-end structure on the Carnival which prevented a five-star crash rating?
