The Polestar 4 is a spacious high-set five-seater crossover in the style of an SUV coupe. Its most notable feature is what’s missing – a back window. This is to maximise rear-seat room whilst still going for a sleek silhouette. The cabin is very spacious and showered in light due to the standard glass roof. There is heaps of storage, more-than-adequate ventilation and lots of interesting textures and materials – many of them recyclable and/or vegan in nature. Leather is optional.
The Polestar 4 is available in several colours. They are 'Snow' (white), 'Magnesium' (light silver), 'Electron' (grey/blue), 'Storm' (deep grey), 'Space' (black) and 'Gold'.
The Polestar 4 has a VDA cargo capacity of 526 litres (including 31L under the floor), extending to 1536 litres with the rear seatbacks folded. There is also an additional 15L compartment under the bonnet up front.
The Polestar 4 Single Motor with rear-wheel drive can sprint from standstill to 100km/h (0-100km/h) in just 7.1 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 200km/h. Not enough? The Dual Motor all-wheel drive (AWD) version slashes the 0-100km/h time to just 3.8 seconds.
The Polestar 3 and 4 are produced by Swedish carbrand Polestar. The 3 is produced in both Chengdu, at Polestar's parent company Geely's plant, and in the US at Ridgeville South Carolina. The 4 also produced in China at Ningbo, as well as in South Korea at Renault's Busan plant. Both examples sold in Australia are built in China.

The Polestar 4 is a medium-sized SUV coupe offering five seats. The driver’s seat has a memory setting for up to five additional people, as all controls for the electrically-actuated backrests and cushions are located within the touchscreen. They are very comfortable, offering lumbar adjustment and more. The rear three-seater bench reclines back a fair amount and is divided into a 60/40 split. It contains a centre armrest with cupholders.
The Polestar 4 uses permanent magnet synchronous motor technology. In the base rear-drive version, it is located on the back axle, and offers up to 200kW of power and 343Nm of torque. It sends drive via a single-speed transmission. As the name infers, the Dual Motor adds another motor over the front axle for AWD, doubling power to 400kW and torque to 686Nm.

The Polestar 4 is well-specified, given it is positioned as a premium, family-friendly sporty coupe SUV. Standard specification highlights include a laminated glass roof, pre-conditioning dual-zone climate control, a 15.4-inch touchscreen, 360-degree camera views, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, powered/heated front seats, seat memory for up to six drivers, ambient lighting, a powered tailgate and 20-inch alloys. But no spare wheel, sadly.
For now, the Polestar 4 is only available in Long Range versions, meaning it features a 100kWh 400V lithium-ion battery pack, with a useable 94kWh. The Single Motor model offers a WLTP range of 620km, while the Dual Motor reduces that to 590km.
