Used Mitsubishi Challenger review: 1998-2013
By Ewan Kennedy · 09 Sep 2014
When launched in 1998, the Mitsubishi Challenger was virtually a Mitsubishi Triton pickup with a station wagon body. Over the years it has became more slightly more sophisticated but still shares some components with the Triton. Which is no bad thing as the Triton is a tough ute with a good reputation in Australia.

Mitsubishi Challenger 2015: Is it a lemon?
Answered by Graham Smith · 15 Jan 2016

Before you rush off and claim you’ve copped a lemon I would investigate the reason for the problem. I suspect there is a problem with the vehicle rather than an issue with its ability to tow. Have your dealer check it out.

It's possible that you could change the system, but I would consult an air-conditioning specialist to get a clearer picture of the differences between the two systems, particularly with components like the compressor, drier, heat exchanger etc.

Mitsubishi Challenger 2013: Radiator issues?
Answered by Paul Gover · 02 Mar 2015

The problem could have been the coolant, rather than the cap. A higher-pressure cap can help if it's a minor problem but, in any case, if you run into problems in the future there is an admission of a problem by Mitsubishi.

Mitsubishi Challenger: What is the LS, PB or PC?
Answered by Graham Smith · 08 Apr 2016

The PB and PC denote models. The PB was introduced in 2009 and was replaced by the PC in 2015. The LS denotes a variant within the model range.

Mitsubishi Challenger 2014: Could it fit Pajero seats?
Answered by Graham Smith · 21 Oct 2016

It's possible they could be, but it's not possible to say with any certainty. Take some measurements of the Pajero seat and compare them with those in the Challenger. You could also ask a mechanic or a wrecker who specializes in Mitsubishis.

It doesn’t sound correct, but I would talk to the Roads and Marine Services people in NSW. They are the ones who would have made those regulations, if indeed they do exist.

Mitsubishi Challenger 1998: Noisy fan?
Answered by Graham Smith · 11 Nov 2016

Is it related to the operation of the fan? If so it could be wear of the fan, and replacing it might be your answer. But you need a mechanic, someone who can actually hear it, to check it for you.

Mitsubishi Challenger: Tow rating
Answered by Graham Smith · 04 Sep 2015

The Mitsubishi Challenger is rated with a maximum towing capacity of 3000kg (braked), so it should cope with your need to tow 2800kg.
