Given its generous overall proportions, no surprise the G80's interior is spacious. The design is restrained with high-quality materials used throughout, including quilted full-grain Nappa leather on the seats and plush carpeting on the floor. But practicality isn't forgotten with numerous storage, power and connectivity options across the cabin.

The standard Genesis G80 is an exceptionally well-equipped luxury sedan for the money. Standard features include electric front seats with heated/vented elements, a massaging function, memory switches and an ottoman-style base extender. The outboard rear seats also are powered, recline and are heated/vented. All are finished in Nappa leather upholstery while the ceiling boasts suede lining.

You’ll also find a head-up display, a 27-inch OLED display screen for the multimedia system, digital instrumentation, 18-speaker premium audio, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, digital radio, dual smartphone chargers, a fingerprint recognition module, powered steering column, a heated front armrest, automatic remote parking, a panoramic sunroof, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, a surround-view monitor, tri-zone climate control system (with vents and controls for the rear-seat occupants), ambient lighting, side/rear sunshades, active noise-cancellation tech, acoustic glass and alloy wheels.

The Genesis G80 range is offered with a choice of three powertrains.

The 2.5T is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, driving the rear wheels via an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. It makes 224kW of power at 5800rpm and 422Nm of torque from 1650-4000rpm.

The 3.5T AWD is powered by a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, producing 279kW of power at 5800rpm and 530Nm of torque between 1300-4500rpm.

Finally, the G80 Electrified is powered by two electric motors, making a combined 272kW of power and 700Nm of torque.

The Genesis G80 2.5T RWD can go from zero to 100km/h (0-100km/h) in about 6.0 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 240km/h.

The Genesis G80 3.5T AWD can go from zero to 100km/h (0-100km/h) in about 4.9 seconds in Launch Control mode and 5.1 seconds in normal driving modes, on the way to a top speed of 250km/h.

The Genesis G80 Electrified electric vehicle (EV) can go from zero to 100km/h (0-100km/h) in about 5.1 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 225km/h.

The Genesis G80 2.5T has a combined average fuel consumption of 9.0 litres per 100km. With a 65-litre fuel tank capacity it should be able to average over 720km of range.

The Genesis G80 3.5T AWD has an official combined average figure is 11.0 litres per 100km. Fitted with a 73L fuel tank, expect about 660km of range between refills.

The Genesis G80 Electrified features a 94.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and offers a (WLTP) range of up to 570km.

The Genesis G80 is a four-door luxury sedan offering five seats. The electrically adjustable front seats are finished in leather, with lots of bolstering and an ottoman-style thigh-area extender. They include heating, ventilation and massaging functions. The three-person rear seat allows the two outboard positions to recline electrically. They are also heated and vented.
