The GAC Aion UT small hatchback debuted globally at the Guangzhou Auto Show in late 2024. Designed at the GAC Milan Design Centre in Italy, the model was created to compete in the growing compact electric vehicle segment. It officially arrived in the Australian market in early 2026 as the fourth model in the local GAC line-up.

In its home market of China, the hatchback is also known by the name Parrot Dragon. The 2026 GAC Aion UT sits on the AEP 3.0 platform which it shares with the larger Aion V SUV. While overseas versions offer smaller 35kWh and 44kWh batteries, the Australian launch line-up focuses on a 60kWh lithium iron phosphate pack.

This first-generation model offers two trim levels for local buyers: Premium and Luxury. Both versions feature a 150kW front-mounted electric motor and a 430km WLTP driving range. Key interior highlights include a 14.6-inch touchscreen and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster.

The line-up currently starts at $31,990 for the Aion Ut Premium and ranges through to $35,990 for the range-topping Aion Ut Luxury.

Gac Aion Ut Accessories

The GAC Aion UT has a high level of standard features across the two grades in the range - Premium and Luxury. Both grades come standard with 17-inch alloys wheels, LED headlights, a 14.6-inch touchscreen, six-speaker stereo, power adjustable and heated front seats, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The only additional features in the Luxury are wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats and a power tailgate.

The GAC Aion UT has a uniquely styled interior with wavy lines combined with squircle-like features throughout. It’s a premium feeling interior even in the entry grade which also happens to be called the Premium.
