Steering wheel vibration in Ford Territory
Answered by Graham Smith · 28 Oct 2016

There no difference between the models that I can think of that would cause the later ones to vibrate as you describe. I would check the idle speed in Drive to make sure it's not too low.

Expensive map upgrades for Territory
Answered by Carsguide.com.au · 01 Jan 2016

You're not the only one and Ford is not the only brand. Ford Australia's customer service boss, Steve Kruk, replies: "The price for the SZ is $195 and it's $295 for the SX from 2004-2011. The reason our Ford map upgrades are more expensive is that we need to build a unique map system for the integrated Ford Sat Nav. The NavMan  and Garmin are generic and they can spread the cost over millions more customers – but it is not integrated with the vehicle".

Best used 7-seater under $15k?

The three cars you name all have merit, none has any major issue to be concerned about and all fit your needs, but you will have to shop around to find them within your age and budget limits.

Second-hand luxury SUV?
Answered by Paul Gover · 27 Oct 2014

The X5 would be my pick because it's a classy car that was the class benchmark until the current Mercedes-Benz ML arrived. But make sure you do your homework, as any complicated prestige car can get expensive if something big goes wrong.

If you like the Territory it would be a good move on a tight second-hand budget, but ensure it has had the necessary suspension updates and be wary of the fuel economy.

Should I replace my territory after 80,000km?
Answered by Carsguide.com.au · 11 Jan 2016

I would keep the Territory going as it should still have plenty of life left in it. Most of the three-tonne tow-mobiles are quite costly, even dual-cab utes.

Petrol or diesel Territory for towing?
Answered by Paul Gover · 30 Mar 2015

The Territory should work fine, but ensure it's had the suspension updates. Diesel will be better for towing, especially fuel economy, although I generally advise petrol if you're doing less than 30,000km a year.

Best SUVs for freeway driving and occasional towing?
Answered by Graham Smith · 23 Sep 2016

There are lots of SUVs to choose from, it's a very crowded market, which works in the favour of the buyer. The Territory of the vintage you are considering is a decent car, the diesel is economical and it would tow up to 2700 kg. Also consider the Toyota RAV4, Nissan X-Trail, Honda CR-V.

Used Ford Territory review: 2004-2015
By Ewan Kennedy · 30 Mar 2016
Ford Territory is arguably the best vehicle ever designed by Ford Australia. Indeed some even say it may be the best automotive design in Australia bar none. Territory is based on the Ford Falcon and shares some of its mechanical components, particularly in the powertrain, but many parts are unique to the big wagon.

New After watching families shift from sedans to SUVs, Ford reacted by designing one of its own based on the components in the Falcon parts bin. The Territory was the result and Ford hoped to stem the flow of red ink by enticing buyers to buy its big
