Subaru Levorg points to 2015 Liberty wagon

Subaru has revealed teaser images of the Levorg concept it will unveil at Tokyo motor show in November -- and likely go on to build as the wagon version of the new Subaru Liberty.

It's one of three new concepts Subaru will have at the show, of which they've already said one will go into production. And the Levorg's name is a blend of the words revolution, touring and legacy -- the last of those the alternative name for the Liberty in other markets.

The show car is powered by a new turbocharged and direct-injected 1.6-litre four-cylinder 'boxer' engine. But some of the features in the teaser images, such as the bonnet scoop, show distinct hints of what we could expect from the next WRX -- suggesting there's a chance we could see a targeting campaigns for motorsport that caters for that sized engine.

Joining the Levorg at Tokyo show will be the latest iteration of the Viviz concept previously seen at Geneva motor show earlier this year, a new Cross Sport compact concept, and the Crossover 7 concept tipped to morph into a replacement for the exiting Subaru Tribeca in a three-row format. It will carry a 2.5-litre four-cylinder mated to a CVT auto gearbox driving both axles with Subaru's all-wheel-drive system.
