The Skoda Kamiq isn’t the first small SUV the brand has offered in Australia - years ago there was another oddly named compact SUV from the company, the Yeti, but it’s no longer anywhere to be seen.The all-new Kamiq small SUV model that launched in Australia late in 2020 plays to Skoda’s strengths, offering more contemporary styling than the polarising Yeti of the past, while also being based on the same underpinnings as a number of Volkswagen models, including the T-Cross and Polo. You may also be able to see more than a passing resemblance to the Scala hatchback, however the Kamiq is actually quite a bit smaller. In fact, it is one of the most compact SUVs on sale in Australia. Not that it feels small inside, with a surprisingly roomy cabin that offers some benchmark levels of technology as standard. Plus, it comes decently equipped from a safety perspective as well, with auto emergency braking, lane assist and more. Skoda has introduced the Kamiq with aggressive pricing, with the Kamiq 85TSI listing at just $26,990, and the Kamiq 110TSI Limited Edition finishes the range at $35,490.

Up front there is a good amount of space, even if you have a bag at your feet as the passenger. You can fit two adults in the back comfortably, or two car seats, but it would still be a tight squeeze for an adult in between them.
