HSV is using the Australian International Motor Show to launch its SV Black Edition models. They’ll join vehicles from Porsche, BMW and Mercedes in earning a black label.

In HSV’s case the edition will be limited to Maloo utes, 100 Clubsport R8 sedans and 25 R8 Tourers.

They all get the blackout treatment with “Vector” black hood and fender vents, matt black on the bottom of the doors and black badges front and rear.

There’s also a bi-model exhaust, 20-inch wheels and unique interior trim.

The Black Edition wagon and sedan come at a $4000 premium to the regular models at $72,990 and $71,990 respectively, while the ute’s $67,990 adds $3000 to the base price.

“We are genuinely excited about this overall package for our customers. It’s a great looking car and a great value-add.”

The cars will be on sale in September and dealers are taking pre-orders from today.
