The GAC Emzoom was first launched in 2023 as part of the brand’s push into the global small SUV market. Built under the GAC Trumpchi sub-brand in China, it aimed to combine sharp design with compact practicality. The Emzoom quickly became one of GAC’s most internationally recognised models, joining the firm’s growing Aion electric line-up as a petrol-powered alternative.
In 2024, GAC refined the Emzoom range with updated safety tech and improved multimedia to meet export-market expectations. Some regions marketed it under the GAC GS3 name, continuing the lineage of the earlier Trumpchi GS3 SUV. This update also introduced mild-hybrid options in select markets, reflecting GAC’s gradual shift toward electrification.
By 2025, the GAC Emzoom had evolved into a key entry point for the brand’s expanding SUV range. It competes directly with small SUVs like the Toyota Yaris Cross, Mazda CX-3 and MG ZS in emerging global markets.
The GAC Emzoom is available in six colours Ivory White, Moonlight Grey, Superstar Silver, Graphene Grey, Elegant Black and the eye-catching Galaxy Lilac.
While the GAC Emzoom is one of the most affordable small SUVs, it isn't a bare-bones model. Luxuries such as a panoramic sunroof and power tailgate are included as standard, along with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED lights and dual-zone climate control. Other equipment includes wireless phone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth and a six-speaker sound system.
The GAC Emzoom features a very stylish cabin, which continues many of the geometric design themes from the exterior. There’s a 7.0-inch LCD instrument display integrated into a wider panel, but it’s all housed within a single unit alongside the 14.6-inch multimedia display to create a modern, hi-tech look.
The GAC Emzoom is powered by a 1.5-litre tubrocharged four-cylinder engine, which makes 125km/270Nm.

The GAC Emzoom is a five-seat small SUV. While it is small in size it has good room inside, helped by the standard panoramic sunroof that lets more light into the cabin for a more spacious feeling.

The boot of the GAC Emzoom measures 341 litres, which is a respectable size for this type of SUV. The inclusion of a power tailgate is a very nice touch at this price and makes life easier.
The GAC Emzoom is powered by a 1.5-litre tubrocharged four-cylinder engine, but only offers modest performance. Expect 0-100km/h in around 7.5-8 seconds.
The GAC Emzoom has a 47-litre fuel tank, which means if you can hit the claimed economy of 6.6L/100km you’ll have a range of just over 700km on a single tank.
