The eighth-generation five-seat, four-door Toyota Camry Ascent was launched in November 2017.

The front-wheel drive sedan is available with a 2.5-litre petrol engine or as a 2.5-litre petrol/electric hybrid. The petrol has a six-speed auto, while the hybrid uses a single-speed transaxle-based gearbox.

The Ascent starts at $27,690 before on road costs for the 2.5-litre, and $29,990 for the hybrid.

It sits at the bottom of the price list beneath the Ascent Sport, LX and LS ranges, which all feature the same 2.5-litre petrol and petrol/electric hybrid drivetrains, as well as a 3.5-litre V6 petrol with an eight-speed auto.

The Ascent range features 17-inch alloys, LED front and rear lights, auto emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning as standard.
