Until the JCW version arrives, the SE is the top-rung Mini Aceman model. It's a range that is an EV-dedicated, SUV line-up that trades partly on its retro looks and charm.
The SE gets a larger electric motor good for 160kW and a claimed 406km of range. The Aceman is front-wheel drive. Charging from an 11kW outlet should take about five-and-a-half hours, but it can also cope with 95kW DC fast charging.
The SE is a five-seater with a decent sized luggage area and five-doors in a conventional wagon layout.
Over and above the E model, the SE gets different wheels, a better stereo, and the lovely, electrically adjustable sports seats from the JCW model. Price for the SE is $60,990.
Safety is comprehensively covered with the latest driver assistance program and nine air-bags including a front centre bag.
The Aceman comes with Mini's five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty with eight years and 160,000km of cover for the high-voltage battery. There's also four years of roadside assistance and capped price servicing is available.
