It comes with either a 3.3-litre V6 petrol engine which makes 206kW/336Nm and costs $60,290 before on-road costs, or a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel that produces 147kW/440Nm. It costs $2500 more at $64,790.

All Carnivals are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission powering the front wheels, along with AEB, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control as standard. The Platinum is equipped with a reversing camera and rear sensors, along with automatic lights, multi-zone climate control, 19-inch alloys, front parking sensors, leather interior with sunshades for the rear windows, powered, heated and vented driver and passenger front seats, tinted glass, LED combination rear lamps and quad-LED DRLS, leather wrapped steering wheel and gearshifter, and an 8.0-inch screen with sat nav and Apple CarPlay.
