Chery is 'supercharging' its hybrid range.

The budget-friendly Chinese brand has launched its new Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid seven-seat SUV in Australia. It joins the smaller Tiggo 7 and 8 Super Hybrids in the brand's growing plug-in hybrid line-up.

The Tiggo 9 is priced from $59,990 (before on-road costs), with only one fully loaded Ultimate AWD grade available.

Chery Australia boss Lucas Harris said: ā€œThis is the ultimate SUV in Chery’s lineup. The Tiggo 9’s combination of modern design, performance, and advanced features will provide drivers with excellent value and a truly extraordinary driving experience."

ā€œIt also features the next step in Chery’s Super Hybrid technology, which results in more power and an even greater driving range.ā€

The Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid pairs a petrol engine with an electric motor and a big battery to deliver 315Kw and 580Nm with an electric driving range of up to 170km via the lenient NEDC test cycle.
